Political socialization is the process in which we learn and form our perception of how power is and organized. This helps us shape the way we live and learn in a political environment. We become politically socialized from where we get information about politics this can be from media, parents, school, religion, and those we interact with.

Political socialization is done through socialization. Political values and beliefs are formed mainly from childhood. You learn and develop a certain attitude towards the political environment through the socialization process. Once one gets to a certain age and they become more aware of the political environment the ideas you first form are influenced socially. The process often happens gradually where you get to learn different aspects of politics. This can be through citizen duties and expectations for political parties.

In my case family played a great role in my political socialization because over the years I have the same ideology as my parent. The schools I went to were more focused on a certain political ideology and taught more about it this made me more reclined to following and liking that ideology. I also tend to believe that the American culture has spread a lot across the world and also made me more inclined to been inclined with their political ideology.

I asked my older brother what helped shape the political perspective that he holds. For him, his political ideology was mainly influenced by our parents because he believes our parents will give perspective based on the way they operate as people generally. Also, religion played a big role in his political perspective as he went to a Roman Catholic school and learned to question things morally. This has made him be more conservative compared to his peers.
